Very expected game when 10th ranked Siauliai (6-29) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Vytautas (18-17) 100-94. The guests were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 23-17 Siauliai's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 100-94 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Siauliai 38-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. Vytautas players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. It was an exceptional evening for forward Arturas Valeika (207-85, college: Midland CC) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Vytenis Cizauskas (187-92) accounted for 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Vytautas' coach Virginijus Seskus allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 7 rebounds, 13 assists and 6 steals and power forward Martynas Echodas (204-97) added 25 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Siauliai in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains sixth place with 18-17 record. Siauliai lost their third game in a row. They stay dead last with 29 lost games. Vytautas will play against Dzukija (#8) in Alytus in the next round. Siauliai will play on the road against Neptunas in Klaipeda and hopes to get back on the winning track.
