Regular Season Round 29: Poitiers - Provence Basket 64-52

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Provence Basket (19-10) against eighth ranked Poitiers (16-13) on Tuesday night. Visiting Provence Basket was defeated by Poitiers in Poitiers 64-52. The game was mostly controlled by Poitiers. Provence Basket was better in third quarter 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Poitiers players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American point guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St.) stepped up and scored 9 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners and power forward Mickael Var (205-90) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) scored 10 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Poitiers moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Provence Basket at the other side keeps the second position with ten games lost. Poitiers will play against league's leader JL Bourg on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Provence Basket will play against Saint Chamond and hopes to get back on the winning track.
