Regular Season Round 30: Rouen - St Quentin 86-77
Date: April 28, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Saint-Quentin (12-18) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked SPO Rouen (15-15) 86-77. Saint-Quentin was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 34-23 charge of SPO Rouen, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 Saint-Quentin turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Saint-Quentin helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard James Woodard (191-94, college: Tulsa) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American-Bahamas forward Jonathan Fairell (201-93, college: Murray St., agency: Duran International) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four SPO Rouen players scored in double figures. American center Ryan Rhoomes (203-92, college: Fordham) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and American-Kenyan forward Robert Nyakundi (203-89, college: SMU) added 12 points in the effort for Saint-Quentin. Saint-Quentin's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. SPO Rouen moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Nantes and Le Havre. Saint-Quentin lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. SPO Rouen's next round opponent will be higher ranked Boulazac Basket (#6) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Saint-Quentin will play against STB Le Havre (#10) and hope to win that game.
