Regular Season Round 28: Rustavi - Cactus Tbilisi 71-77

The most shocking disappointment of round 28 was a home defeat of 3rd ranked Energy Invest (13-15) to fourth ranked Cactus Tbilisi (14-14) 77-71 in the game for the third place. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 31-20. But Energy Invest won second period 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Energy Invest 52-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. 29 personal fouls committed by Energy Invest helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American center John Florveus (211-90, college: Georgia) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Terik Bridgeman (198, college: William Pater.) who added 10 points and 21 rebounds during the contest. Four Cactus Tbilisi players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Maurice Lewis-Briggs (203-90, college: Slippery Rock, agency: Mansfield and Associates) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and center Sergo Atuashvili (223-85) scored 9 points and 10 rebounds. Cactus Tbilisi have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Energy Invest lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with 15 games lost.
