Regular Season Round 30: Bourg - Poitiers 86-64
Date: April 29, 2017
ProB top team - JL Bourg (22-8) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Poitiers (16-14) 86-64. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Poitiers. The game was mostly controlled by JL Bourg. Poitiers was better in fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JL Bourg players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Senegalese center Youssou Ndoye (213-91, college: St.Bonaventure) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Maxime Courby (200-90) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four JL Bourg players scored in double figures. Even 11 points and 4 assists by American point guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St.) did not help to save the game for Poitiers. Naturalized Guinean swingman Sekou-Omar Doumbouya (202-0) added 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. JL Bourg have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-8 record. Poitiers at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. JL Bourg will play against ADA Blois (#5) on the road in the next round. Poitiers will play against SO Maritime Boulogne and hopes to get back on the winning track.
