Regular Season Round 60: Chiba Jets - Akita NH 79-76

Fifth-ranked Akita Happinets (18-40) were very close to win a game against third ranked Chiba Jets (42-16). Chiba Jets managed to secure only three-point victory 79-76. However their fans expected easier game. Chiba Jets made 22-of-24 charity shots (91.7 percent) during the game. Akita Happinets were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and American center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) who added 18 points and 9 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds and guard Seiya Ando (184-92) scored 18 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Chiba Jets have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Toyota Alvark. Akita Happinets at the other side keep the fifth position with 40 games lost. Chiba Jets will play against Hokkaido L. (#4) in Saporro in the next round. Akita Happinets will play at home against the league's second-placed Toyota Alvark and hope to get back on the winning track.
