Regular Season Round 30: Hapoel T-A - Galil Gilboa 65-80

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when tenth ranked Galil Gilboa (13-17) beat on the road 9th ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (13-17) 80-65. It looked good early as Hapoel Tel-Aviv took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Galil Gilboa had a 22-8 second period charge getting the lead and Hapoel Tel-Aviv was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-80. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was forward Eric Griffin (203-90, college: Campbell) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four Galil Gilboa players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Mark Lyons (185-89, college: Arizona, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who recorded 16 points and 4 assists and power forward Darrell Williams (203-89, college: Tex.A&M-Comm., agency: BeoBasket) added 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach rotated ten players saving starting five for next games. Galil Gilboa moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Hapoel T-A. Hapoel Tel-Aviv lost fifth consecutive game. Galil Gilboa's next round opponent will be Maccabi Ashdod (#11) at home.
