Rather expected game when 17th ranked La ICL Manresa (4-26) was smashed by fourteenth ranked Joventut (11-20) in Badalona 100-66 on Sunday. The game without a history. Joventut led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Joventut forced 19 La ICL Manresa turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Albert Sabat (181-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 9 assists. Jamaican center Jerome Jordan (215-86, college: Tulsa) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Joventut players scored in double figures. Forward Pere Tomas (202-89) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Brazilian-American point guard Scott Machado (186-90, college: Iona) added 7 points and 7 assists in the effort for La ICL Manresa. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Joventut moved-up to thirteenth place. La ICL Manresa lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 26 lost games. Joventut will face league's leader Real Madrid on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. La ICL Manresa will play against Zaragoza (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
