Regular Season Round 32: Vichy Clermont - Roanne 83-78

There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked JA Vichy (13-19) beat at home 13th ranked Chorale de Roanne (13-19) 83-78 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chorale de Roanne won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JA Vichy made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Strangely Chorale de Roanne outrebounded JA Vichy 35-20 including 21 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. David Denave (193-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Power forward Charles-Henri Bronchard (200-82, agency: Court Side) contributed with 14 points and 7 assists for the winners. American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Bill Clark (196-88, college: Duquesne) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Chorale de Roanne. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. JA Vichy moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with St Quentin and Roanne. Chorale de Roanne lost third consecutive game. JA Vichy will face higher ranked ALM Evreux (#10) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
