Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Giants (3-7) lost to first ranked Tigers (9-2) in Kalgoorlie 77-89 on Saturday. Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Giants' 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American players dominated the game. Forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Swingman Jay Bowie (196-92, college: Marist) contributed with 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Tigers' coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Power forward Jacob Holmen (202-91, college: N.Texas) answered with 29 points and 6 rebounds and forward JB Pillard (201, college: Cent.Washington) added 19 points in the effort for Giants. Tigers maintains first place in League with 9-2 record. Loser Giants dropped to the twelfth position with seven games lost. Tigers will face Wanneroo (#3) in Joondalup in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Giants will play at home against Eagles (#6) and hope to win that game.
