There was a minor upset when 9th ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (16-17) was defeated at home by eleventh ranked Cholet Basket (14-19) 78-73 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 39-30 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Center Jerry Boutsiele (207-92) stepped up and scored 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and the former international forward Ilian Evtimov (201-83, college: N.Carolina St.) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Richard Solomon (208-92, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Justin Cobbs (191-91, college: California, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 16 points and 7 assists. Four Gravelines-Dunkerque players scored in double figures. Gravelines-Dunkerque's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Cholet Basket. They maintain eleventh place with 14-19 record, which they share with Le Mans. Loser Gravelines-Dunkerque keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost. Cholet Basket will face higher ranked Le Portel (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
