Azad held off Naft Abadan to force the semifinal series into the decisive fifth game. Naft Abadan was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 27-14 charge of Azad, which allowed them to win the game. 27 personal fouls committed by Naft Abadan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
