Semi-Finals Game 1: Toshiba BT - Toyota Alvark 84-76

Toshiba Brave Thunders held off Toyota Alvark in the opener. It looked good early as Toyota Alvark took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Toshiba Thunders had a 24-15 second period charge getting the lead and Toyota Alvark was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-84. Toshiba Thunders dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Toyota Alvark's 34. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and international point guard Ryusei Shinoyama (178-88) chipped in 23 points. At the losing side American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) responded with 23 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Jeff Ayres (206-87, college: Arizona St.) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Four Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
