Regular Season Round 34: Poitiers - Denain 73-75

Important game to mention about took place in Poitiers. Thirteenth ranked Denain Voltaire (15-19) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging higher ranked Poitiers (17-17) 75-73 on Friday evening. It looked good early as Poitiers took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Denain Voltaire had a 26-13 second period charge getting the lead and Poitiers was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-75. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized American guard Terry Tarpey (196-94, college: William & Mary) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Ivorian-American swingman Charles Abouo (196-89, college: BYU) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Denain Voltaire's coach Jean-Christophe Prat allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American point guard Jay Threatt (180-89, college: Delaware St.) replied with 14 points and 9 assists and power forward Mickael Var (205-90) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Poitiers. Four Poitiers players scored in double figures. Denain Voltaire moved-up to twelfth place. Poitiers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Blois.
