Regular Season Round 19: Trotamundos - Toros 86-76

The game between Top Four teams took place in Valencia. Third ranked host Trotamundos (20-14) defeated 4th placed Toros (12-21) 86-76. Trotamundos forced 20 Toros turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Ricardo Powell (199-83, college: S.Carolina) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). The former international forward Anthony Perez (206-93, college: Mississippi) accounted for 22 points for the winning side. Four Trotamundos players scored in double figures. American-Peruvian point guard Kyle Fuller (185-92, college: Vanderbilt) came up with 22 points (made all of his eight free throws) and the former international center Alejandro Barrios (204-79) added 22 points respectively for Toros in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Trotamundos have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 20-14 record having just one point less than leader Guaiqueries. Toros at the other side keep the fourth position with 21 games lost. Trotamundos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Toros will play on the road against the league's second-placed Bucaneros (#2) in La Guaira and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
