Panteras looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Gaiteros' players. The best player for the winners was American Trey Gilder (206-85, college: Northwestern St.) who scored 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field). The former international power forward Luis Julio (201-80) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Four Panteras players scored in double figures. The former international forward Hernan Salcedo (198-80) produced 22 points and 7 rebounds and forward Deivis Ananguren (192-85) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panteras maintains fifth position with 13-21 record which they share with defeated Gaiteros. Gaiteros lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 27 games lost. Panteras will face higher ranked Marinos (#3) in Puerto La Cruz in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gaiteros will play on the road against the league's leader Guaiqueries in Porlamar and hope to win that game.
