This time Rockhampton Rockets used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Brisbane 91-84 on Friday night. The best player for the winners was American guard Chris Fowler (185-93, college: Cent.Michigan) who scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import power forward Rashad Hassan (203-89, college: Savannah St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Tom Jervis (211-87, college: Troy) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds and guard Mitch Philp (184-89) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rockhampton Rockets (3-4) moved-up to sixth place in League. Loser Brisbane Spartans dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Rockhampton Rockets will face higher ranked Townsville Heat (#4) in Hermit Park in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brisbane Spartans will play at home against Toowoomba Mountaineers (#14) and hope to win that game.
