Very expected game when 11th ranked Maroochydore Clippers (2-4) were rolled over on the road by leader Brisbane Capitals (6-0) 112-89 on Saturday. Brisbane Capitals forced 19 Maroochydore Clippers turnovers. Strangely Maroochydore Clippers outrebounded Brisbane Capitals 44-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian guard Princeton Onwas (198-93, college: San Jose St.) who scored 39 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. American point guard Aaron Anderson (178, college: N.Dakota) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds, 13 assists and 4 steals. Four Brisbane Capitals players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Breland Hogan (185, college: Grand Valley St.) who recorded 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Jeromie Hill (203-91, college: UTSA) added 22 points and 9 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brisbane Capitals maintains second place in League with 6-0 record behind leader Mackay M. Loser Maroochydore Clippers dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Brisbane Capitals will face Logan T. (#12) in Loganholme in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maroochydore Clippers will play against Sunshine CR and hope to win that game.
