Regular Season Round 10: Aguilas - Cimarrones 65-83

Date: June 11, 2017
The game in Boyaca was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Cimarrones (5-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Patriotas (3-7). Cimarrones did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 83-65 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-65. Cimarrones dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Patriotas' 26 and made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Cimarrones forced 24 Patriotas turnovers and outrebounded them 45-31 including a 23-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international center John Hernandez (207-84) had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Amir Carraway (198-91, college: Chico St.) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Cimarrones' coach Plinio Rosero used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American forward Frisco Sandidge (198-87, college: Delaware St.) responded with 18 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Dallis Joyner (203-90, college: Stony Brook) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Cimarrones moved-up to third place, which they share with Academia. Loser Patriotas keep the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Piratas and Condores. Cimarrones will meet Condores (#7) in the next round. Patriotas will play against Caciques in Valleduparnga and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
