Marinos held off Guaiqueries to surge ahead in the series. The hosts were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 18-11 run, which allowed them to win the game. Marinos players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Guaiqueries were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Christophe Massie (206-77, college: Memphis) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) accounted for 17 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists for the winning side. Four Marinos players scored in double figures. American guard Devan Downey (175-87, college: S.Carolina, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international swingman Cesar Silva (190-81) added 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) respectively for Guaiqueries in the defeat.
