Guaros overcame Marinos to take 2-0 lead in the championship series. Guaros had a 27-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. International center Gregory Echenique (206-90, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Jose Vargas (195-82, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Guaros players scored in double figures. Panamanian forward Michael Hicks (196-76, college: Texas A&M-CC) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and the former international point guard Gregory Vargas (180-86, agency: Pro Sports) scored 22 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
