There was a small surprise in Condell Park where fourth ranked Bruins (9-4) beat top-ranked Spireds (12-1) 90-77 on Saturday. They outrebounded Spireds 49-38 including 17 on the offensive glass. Bruins looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Spireds' players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Casey Samuels (182-94) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 8 rebounds and Marjy Grealish who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Bruins players scored in double figures. Bruins' coach let to play all 12 players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side the former international point guard Alicia Poto (166-78) responded with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds and Olivia Sheehan scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Bruins maintains fourth position in League with 9-4 record. Loser Spireds still keep top place with one game lost. Bruins will have a break next round. Spireds will play on the road against Sharks in Sutherland and hope to win that game.
