Very expected game in Eltham where 6th ranked Wildcats (7-8) were crushed by second ranked Knox Raiders (13-4) 86-50 on Saturday. Knox Raiders held Wildcats to an opponent 24.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Knox Raiders forced 19 Wildcats turnovers and outrebounded them 50-39 including 18 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Knox Raiders made 10 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Lucy Dawson (181-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and Serbian guard Milica Ivanov (178-96) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side the former international swingman Katrina Hibbert (180-77, college: LSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-93) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Knox Raiders maintains second position in League with 13-4 record having just eight point less than leader Brisbane S. Loser Wildcats keep the sixth place with eight games lost. Knox Raiders will face league's leader Sunbury in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Wildcats will play against Hume City Broncos (#7) in Tullamarine and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
