Regular Season Round 18: Dandenong R. - Bendigo B. 98-78

There was a small surprise when third ranked Dandenong Rangers (11-6) outleveled at home one of their biggest challengers Bendigo Braves (9-9) 98-78 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 20 points. Dandenong Rangers looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Garrett Jackson (201-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Joshua Oswald (201-94, college: Emporia St.) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward CJ Aiken (206-90, college: St.Joseph's) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and point guard Adam Doyle (176-91) added 21 points and 6 assists respectively. Five Dandenong Rangers and four Bendigo Braves players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dandenong Rangers maintains third position in League with 11-6 record having just seven point less than leader Mackay M. which they share with defeated Bendigo Braves. Loser Bendigo Braves keep the third place with nine games lost. Dandenong Rangers will face league's second-placed Chargers in Hobart in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bendigo Braves will play on the road against Canberra Gunners in Belconnen and hope to win that game.
