There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Devils (9-9) were defeated on the road by seventh ranked McKinnon C. (8-7) 83-72 on Saturday. McKinnon C. dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Devils' 34. They outrebounded Devils 43-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Dillon Stith (200-92, college: St.Vincent) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. Naturalized Croatian forward Ivan Platenik (201-83, college: Alaska-Anch.) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds. Four McKinnon C. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jordan Hughes (192-92, college: Dakota St.) who recorded 22 points and his fellow American import guard Jeremy Smith (190, college: Nicholls St.) added 17 points respectively. McKinnon C. maintains seventh position in League with 8-7 record. Loser Devils dropped to the sixth place with nine games lost. McKinnon C. will face higher ranked Casey C. (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
