An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Valparaiso. First ranked Sportiva Italiana faced 3rd placed Puente Alto. Host Sportiva Italiana (9-2) defeated guests from Puente Alto (7-4) 85-72. Sportiva Italiana forced 27 Puente Alto turnovers. Strangely Puente Alto outrebounded Sportiva Italiana 43-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Puente Alto was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Francoise Diaz (-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points. Forward Camilo Bustamante (187-89) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Francisco Pena (187-89) answered with 13 points, 7 assists and 4 steals and swingman Diego Valenzuela (185-94) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Puente Alto. Four Puente Alto players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sportiva Italiana maintains first place with 9-2 record. Puente Alto at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Sportiva Italiana will play against Brisas (#5) in Santiago in the next round. Puente Alto will play at home against Arturo Prat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
