An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Quibdo-Choco. Third ranked Cimarrones faced their biggest opponent Academia. Host Cimarrones (11-7) defeated guests from Montana (13-9) 70-53. Venezuelan Jose Rodriguez (197-94) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Amir Carraway (198-91, college: Chico St.) chipped in 8 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international power forward Divier Perez (201-89) produced 9 points and 10 rebounds and Andres Trespalacios added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Cimarrones maintains third position with 11-7 record having ten points less than leader Fast Break. Defending champion Academia keeps the second place with nine games lost. Cimarrones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Academia will play at home against Piratas and is hoping to win this game.
