There was no surprise in Park Holme where 10th ranked Eastern Mavericks (2-15) were defeated by seventh ranked South Adelaide Panthers (8-9) 97-91 on Saturday. South Adelaide Panthers made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Eastern Mavericks turnovers. Eastern Mavericks were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Eian Davis (185-90, college: Albertus Magnus) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 47 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Caleb Davis (206-95, college: Saginaw Valley) who added 17 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Dylan Shorne responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and guard Lachlan Barker (179-96) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Five Eastern Mavericks players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. South Adelaide Panthers maintains seventh position in League with 8-9 record. Loser Eastern Mavericks keep the tenth place with 15 games lost. South Adelaide Panthers will face higher ranked Sturt Sabres (#5) in Pasadena in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Eastern Mavericks will play at home against the league's second-placed Noarlunga City Southern Tigers (#2) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
