Regular Season Round 10: Dongbu - Shaanxi W. 77-98

Bottom-ranked Dongbu is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to second ranked Shaanxi W. (7-3) 98-77 on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Shaanxi W.. Dongbu managed to win third quarter 27-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Dongbu 49-37 including 35 on the defensive glass. American guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) notched 27 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and the other American import forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) supported him with 20 points and 17 rebounds. Shaanxi W.'s coach ZhengXiu Jiang felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) by forward Boyin Sui (202-95) did not help to save the game for Dongbu. Point guard Tujun Shen (185-92) added 22 points for lost side. Shaanxi W. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-3 record behind leader Henan, which they share with Hunan. Loser Dongbu still closes the standings with ten games lost. Shaanxi W. will meet Anhui (#4) on the road in the next round. Dongbu will play against Hebei X. (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
