An interesting game for Leones SD (5-3) which hosted in Santo Domingo second-ranked Titanes Licey (3-4). First ranked Leones SD managed to get a 4-point victory 89-85. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Titanes Licey won third quarter 23-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Leones SD made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Titanes Licey was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Patrick Miller (185-92, college: Tennessee St.) stepped up and scored 30 points and 7 assists for the winners and his fellow American import swingman Omar Reed (200-87, college: Bluefield) chipped in 15 points and 6 assists. American center Brian Williams (208-87, college: Tennessee) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Spanish power forward Edward Santana (203-80) scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Leones SD and five Titanes Licey players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-3 record. Titanes Licey at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Caneros LR.
