Regular Season Round 13: Triple E-Uda - Juvenil 64-73

Bottom-ranked Triple E-Uda (0-13) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 73-64 loss to sixth ranked Juvenil (7-6) in Gualaceo on Saturday evening. Triple E-Uda trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 21-13 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 64-73 at the end of the game. Venezuelan guard Jovanni Diaz (195-92) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds for the winners and Venezuelan forward Lenin Lopez (198-91) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Venezuelan power forward Jean Pierre (205-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and Santiago Tamariz (-96) scored 11 points. Triple E-Uda's coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Juvenil moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Importadora and Piratas. Triple E-Uda lost their thirteenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Juvenil will meet Piratas (#5) in the next round. Triple E-Uda will play against Portoviejo in Portviejo and hopes to get finally their first victory.
