Regular Season Round 1: Bonn II - Hertener Loewen 54-81

Another interesting game for Hertener Loewen (1-0) which played on the court of Bonn II (0-1). Hertener Loewen crushed hosts 81-54. Hertener Loewen outrebounded Bonn II 41-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. American power forward Dijon Smith (203-89, college: Ft.Hays State) stepped up and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Ukrainian forward Artem Shelukha (198-87) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Five Hertener Loewen players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward KJ Sherrill (203-91, college: Augusta) responded with 11 points and 6 rebounds and Philipp Gruber (193-96) scored 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hertener Loewen will play against Kamp-Lintfort (#13) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Bonn II will play against Herford (#12) to get more than just one victory in their record.
