Regular Season Round 3: Al-Ahli - Sitra 91-65
Date: September 21, 2017
The game in Manama supposed to be also quite interesting. Sitra (1-1) played at the court of Al-Ahli (2-1). Al-Ahli smashed Sitra 91-65 on Thursday. Al-Ahli forced 19 Sitra turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Hussain Shaker who led the winners and scored 22 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Kadhem Majed accounted for 21 points for the winning side. Four Al-Ahli players scored in double figures. Al-Ahli's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nigerian-American center Augustine Okosun (210-86, college: Kaiser) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 25 rebounds and 4 blocks and Qatari center Mohammad Abdullah (205-82) added 15 points respectively for Sitra in the defeat. Al-Ahli will meet Isa Town (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Sitra will play against Al-Bahrain and hope to win that game.
