Regular Season Round 1: Centrum - Kongsberg 72-92

An interesting game was played in Oslo where Kongsberg (#8) crushed host Centrum (#4) with 20-point difference 92-72 on Friday evening. Kongsberg outrebounded Centrum 42-31 including a 34-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cuban-American guard Juan Ferrales (187-91, college: Barry) stepped up and scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and American guard Fred Thomas (196-93, college: Mississippi St.) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side guard Magnus Midtvedt (182-90) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Ahmed Haddad (190-93) scored 14 points. Four Centrum players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kongsberg will meet at home Gimle BBK (#4) in the next round. Centrum will play against Fyllingen BBK and hope to win that game.
