Regular Season Round 2: Moycullen - DCU Saints 78-85

Very important is a home loss of Moycullen (1-1) against DCU Saints (1-1) on Saturday night. Host Moycullen was defeated by DCU Saints in a tough game in Galway 78-85. DCU Saints shot 61.5 percent from the field. DCU Saints outrebounded Moycullen 43-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when DCU Saints made 7 blocks. American center Dee Proby (208-88, college: Oklahoma City) notched a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international center Martins Provizors (202-87) supported him with 8 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Even 11 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Brandon McGuire (193, college: Moravian) did not help to save the game for Moycullen. The former international guard Dylan Cunningham (195-91) added 9 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. DCU Saints will meet at home Belfast Star in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Moycullen will play against Killester in Dublin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
