There was no surprise in Kotka where KTP-Basket (0-2) was defeated by Kauhajoki (1-0) 98-93 on Friday. Kauhajoki made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated the game. Forward Stephen Maxwell (201-93, college: CS Northridge, agency: Two Points) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Forward Flenard Whitfield (201-90, college: W.Michigan) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. Center Kenneth Simms (206-86, college: Cumberland) produced 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Jermont Horton (198-84, college: Rutgers-Newark) added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. KTP-Basket's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kauhajoki will face Helsinki Seagulls at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. KTP-Basket will play against Joensuun Kataja (#8) and hope to win that game.
