But Nishinomiya S. was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Chiba 86-70 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Chiba Jets. Nishinomiya S. was better in fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Chiba Jets' coach Atsushi Ono used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Connor Lammert (206-94, college: Texas) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Naoki Tani (193-88) scored 18 points. Chiba Jets will have a break next round. Nishinomiya S. will play again at home against Chiba Jets (#1) and hope to win that game.
