Regular Season Round 1: Myrtia - Cambados 89-76

Myrtia used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Cambados 89-76 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Myrtia. Cambados was better in fourth quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American center Chris Matagrano (206-90, college: New Hampshire) stepped up and scored 27 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and French guard Kevin Franceschi (190-93, college: Oklah.Baptist) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Four Myrtia players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Samuel Barros (190-98) responded with 25 points and 4 assists and British forward Will Saunders (201-91, college: Charleston So.) scored 18 points. Myrtia will face Agustinos-Leclerc in Leon in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cambados will play at home against Albacete (#2) and hope to win that game.
