Regular Season Round 2: CDU Concepcion - CDE Talca 75-73

The biggest surprise of round 2 in Liga Nacional took place in Concepcion where host Universidad de Concepcion (1-1) edged Espanol de Talca (1-1) 75-73 on Sunday evening. Espanol de Talca was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 19-16 charge of Universidad de Concepcion, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American Musa Abdul-Aleem (196-88, college: Troy) who scored 23 points. Center Matias Villagran (199-88) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Nigerian-American center Reggie Okosa (207-80, college: La Salle) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and American forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Espanol de Talca will play next round against strong CD Castro trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Universidad de Concepcion will try to continue on its current victory against AB Ancud at home.
