Another upset was a game between Real Betis (0-1) and Valencia Basket (1-0), which took place in Sevilla. Real Betis lost at home to Valencia Basket 80-90 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Valencia Basket. Real Betis was better in third quarter 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Valencia Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. It was a very good performance for American point guard Erick Green (190-91, college: Virginia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 27 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). International swingman Joan Sastre-Morro (201-91) contributed with 13 points for the winners. American-Nigerian power forward O.D. Anosike (203-91, college: Siena, agency: Alti Sport) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Congolese-French forward Nobel Boungou-Colo (202-88, agency: Alti Sport) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Real Betis. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Real Betis' coach Alejandro Martinez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Valencia Basket will face Blusens Monbus (#5) in Santiago de Comp in the next round. Real Betis will play on the road against Gipuzkoa (#14) in San Sebastian and hope to win that game.
