Regular Season Round 2: Vasas Akademia - BEAC Ujbuda 70-66

We should mention about the upset which took place in Budapest, where BEAC-Ujbuda (0-2) lost to Vasas Akademia (1-1) in a road game 66-70. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Vasas Akademia made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 30 BEAC-Ujbuda turnovers. Serbian power forward Jefimija Karakasevic (191-89) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds. Power forward Beatrix Meresz (184-99) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Judit Barnai (189-94) replied with 13 points and 7 rebounds and forward Krisztina Sule (178-87) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for BEAC-Ujbuda. Five BEAC-Ujbuda players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Vasas Akademia will play against UNI Gyor (#4) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BEAC-Ujbuda's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Budapest to the arena MTK.
