Al-Bahrain has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Sitra, where they defeated Sitra (1-2) 73-61 on Thursday. Al-Bahrain forced 24 Sitra turnovers. American forward Merrill Holden (203-93, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) fired 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Ali Jalil chipped in 12 points. Al-Bahrain's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nigerian-American center Augustine Okosun (210-86, college: Kaiser) produced a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 26 rebounds and Iraqi Ali Abdulla added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Al-Bahrain (1-3) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Isa Town. Loser Sitra keeps the eighth position with two games lost. They share it with Al-Riffa. Al-Bahrain will meet at home higher ranked Al-Hala (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sitra will play against Al-Nweidrat and hope to win that game.
