Regular Season Round 3: Kanazawa Sam. - Sendai 89ers 79-80

A very interesting game took place in Ishikawa. It ended with only one-point home defeat of Kanazawa Sam. (3-1) to Sendai 89ers (1-3) 80-79 on Friday evening. The guests were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 6-point deficit before their 27-20 run, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) accounted for 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) came up with 26 points and 7 rebounds and guard Ide Yuji (181-88) added 16 points respectively for Kanazawa Sam. in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
