Regular Season Round 4: Templeogue - UCD Marian 72-78

Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Dublin: UCD Marian (#2) and Templeogue (#9). Despite it looked like an easy game for UCD Marian, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Host Templeogue challenged much higher ranked UCD Marian giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by six points 78-72. UCD Marian outrebounded Templeogue 49-37 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when UCD Marian made 7 blocks. American guard Mike Garrow (193-91, college: E.Connecticut) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Spanish forward Jordi Vall-Llobera (193-83) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Jason Killeen (211-85, college: Augusta) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds and international forward Neil Randolph (196, college: Elmira) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. UCD Marian have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Templeogue lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with three games lost. UCD Marian will face bottom-ranked Maree (#12) in Galway in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Templeogue will play at home against UCC Demons and hope to win that game.
