Regular Season Round 3: Tokyo Z - Akita NH 60-85

No shocking result in a game when Akita Happinets (3-0) smashed on the road Tokyo Z (1-2) 85-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Akita Happinets. Tokyo Z was better in fourth quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tokyo Z to just 5 points in first quarter. Akita Happinets forced 22 Tokyo Z turnovers and outrebounded them 44-20 including a 14-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Akita Happinets looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was international guard Shigehiro Taguchi (184-90) who scored 19 points. American forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick (203-89, college: S.Florida) chipped in 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Ruben Boykin (201-85, college: N.Arizona) who recorded 9 points and guard Tatsuya Nishiyama (171-88) added 8 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Akita Happinets will have a break next round. Tokyo Z will play again at home against Akita Happinets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
