Regular Season Round 3: Chantada - Culleredo 83-52

Chantada used a home court advantage and outleveled the opponent from Culleredo 83-52 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-52. Chantada dominated on the defensive end, holding Culleredo to just 5 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Culleredo's 24 and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Culleredo 50-29 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Nigerian forward Jeffrey Solarin (193-92, college: Idaho St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. British guard Kofi Josephs (198-91, college: Fort Lewis) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American forward Kyree Marshall (198-94, college: Elizabeth City) answered with 24 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import guard Dallas Searles (190-92, college: Quest) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Culleredo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chantada will face Ponferrada CDP (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Culleredo will play against Innova Chef and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
