Regular Season Round 3: Valladolid Univ. - Pielagos 81-102

But Valladolid Univ. was not able to use a home court advantage and was outplayed by the opponent from Renedo de Pielagos 102-81 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Pielagos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.7 percent from the field and had 20 for 27 from the free-throw line, while Valladolid Univ. only scored four points from the stripe. Pielagos shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. Valladolid Univ. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for point guard Brais Gago (180-96) who led his team to a victory with 23 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Power forward Daniel Garcia (203-97) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Pedro Gonzalez (195-89) answered with 13 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Alvaro Encinas (202-94) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Valladolid Univ.Five Pielagos and four Valladolid Univ. players scored in double figures. Valladolid Univ.'s coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Pielagos will face Zornotza (#7) in Amorebieta-Echano in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Valladolid Univ. will play on the road against Mondragon (#13) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
