Regular Season Round 3: Iwate Big Bulls - Hiroshima D. 64-69

Rather expected game when Iwate Big Bulls (0-3) were defeated at home by Dragonflies (2-1) 69-64 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Iwate Big Bulls won third quarter 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Iwate Big Bulls 44-30 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American power forward Clint Chapman (208-89, college: Texas) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Terrence Drisdom (196-92, college: Cal Poly Pomona) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Markhuri Sanders-Frison (203-88, college: California) who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds and guard Noriyuki Sugasawa (192-87) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Dragonflies will have a break next round. Iwate Big Bulls will play again at home against Dragonflies (#3) and hope to get finally their first victory.
