Regular Season Round 2: Lugo - Palermo GB 97-72

Lugo used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Palermo 97-72 on Saturday night. Lugo dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Palermo GB's 22 and made 31-of-38 free shots (81.6 percent) during the game, while Palermo GB only scored five points from the stripe. Palermo GB was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Matteo Seravalli (184-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 16-for-16 from the free throw line !!!). Power forward Giacomo Filippini (204-91) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Daro Gullo (185-86) replied with 19 points and guard Michele Venturelli (190-82) added 17 points in the effort for Palermo GB. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lugo will face Crema on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Palermo GB will play against Faenza (#8) and hope to win that game.
