Regular Season Round 3: Nova Ves - Zilina 93-84

The game in Nova Ves was also quite interesting. Zilina (1-2) played at the court of Nova Ves (2-1). Nova Ves managed to secure a 9-point victory 93-84 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Nova Ves made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for Canadian point guard Michael LAfricain (185-92, college: Ottawa) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Bosnian center Djordje Ninkovic (210-93) helped adding 16 points and 10 rebounds. Nova Ves' coach Erich Korfanta used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American point guard Walter Wright (178, college: Montana) with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center Brandon Holcomb (201-93, college: Radford) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nova Ves will meet Kosice on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zilina will play against Levice (#3) and hope to win that game.
